Interpreter of the Universe

Yannis was a master interpreter. An interpreter not only transforms words from one language to another. We know, for example, that Yannis was a Greek interpreter at Massachusetts General Hospital for patients who had traveled from afar and could not understand English. There were occasions where a patient had suffered such a severe trauma or injury that simple speech was impossible. In those cases Yannis may not have had any words to interpret. He would interpret gestures, facial expressions. He took from his own experiences, his culture, his empathy, his intuition and perhaps other senses. In the same way Yannis has used his art to interpret the universe to us. His work tells personal stories which dilate exponentially and we sense that we are all one and the same. We are never alone.
